One year of Kindred Path: what a year of fertility care has taught us

A year of walking with families

This September, Kindred Path Fertility Centre marks its first anniversary. A year is a small number, and also a large one. It is long enough to have sat with hundreds of questions, some clinical and some deeply personal, and to have learned, again and again, that the two almost always arrive together.

When we opened, we set out to do fertility care a particular way: to listen before recommending, to explain every option plainly, and to treat the person, not only the diagnosis. A year on, that is still the whole of it. Nothing about advanced reproductive medicine removes the need for someone to sit across from you and take your story seriously.

What the year taught us

Three things stand out. First, that most people wait longer than they needed to before asking, often because they were unsure whether their situation counted, or afraid that walking into a fertility centre meant committing to treatment. It does not. A consultation is a conversation.

Second, that clarity is a form of care. Publishing our prices in full, and writing a planner of the questions to ask any clinic, mattered to people precisely because so much of this field can feel opaque. Third, that partnership matters: as the team managing the Institute of Fertility Medicine at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, we sit within a specialist environment that patients and referring doctors can trust.

Our thank you: free consultations every Thursday in September

To mark the year, we are opening a limited number of private 30-minute consultations every Thursday in September, at no charge, for women, men and couples. It is our way of saying thank you, and of making the first step easier for anyone who has been waiting to take it.

There is no pressure and no commitment. You bring your questions, you hear a professional perspective, and you decide what, if anything, comes next. Consultations run on the September Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and slots close as they fill.

How to book

Booking takes a couple of minutes. Choose a Thursday and a time that suits you, leave your details, and you will receive a confirmation and a pass to bring with you. If every slot is taken, you can join the reserve list and our care team will contact you as a place opens.

However long you have been carrying your questions, you do not have to carry them alone. Thank you for a first year. We would be glad to begin your next step with you.
